What if Facebook, MS, Apple, Google are the god guys, and you are unsuspecting sheep, being manipulated into preventing them innovating to protect individual privacy?
To make it easier to imagine. Why not onboard a conspiracy Theory or two.
How about the Illuminati: all knowing information gatherers (Information is power!)
Use the concept of Empathy and imagine you are the advisor to these fictitious guys. Would you want these media giants locking you out of the information flow that you currently enjoy.
If you already know, and are just doing your job, then enjoy it while it lasts.
